So Cal Chapter General Meeting
June 11, 2005
Zubies Dry Dock Restaurant in Huntington Beach

We are in the process of getting the May issue of the Atalanta out to you, but in the meantime we wanted to notify you of our next meeting and a very interesting visit to a private collection of Studebakers and other great cars.
Our meeting will be held on Saturday, June 11 at Zubies Dry Dock Restaurant in Huntington Beach. We will meet there at 11:15, have a no-host lunch – hope you’re hungry; they serve a lot of food – and then have our meeting and election of officers.
At about 1 PM we’ll leave for a driving tour to Costa Mesa to this fellow’s home where we will walk to the several locations on his street where he has his cars stored. Most of his cars are post-war but unbelievable nevertheless. He has a very large collection of bullet-nosed Studebakers, including about five convertibles, one with 20,000 actual miles on it. Then he has Chrysler products, some GMs, and a number of other orphan marques.
Please give some serious thought as to whether you would like to help the club by accepting an officer’s position. We have three positions open: Dictator (President). Commander (Vice-President and Editor) and Secretary/Treasurer. In addition we have three spots open for ‘Champions’: the Northern area (on the other side of the Grapevine to about Fresno), the Los Angeles area and the Arizona area. We would also like to get a Champion for the San Diego area in order to build our membership from down there. Some of our officers have been serving since the club’s inception and perhaps we need some fresh blood. We would appreciate having you volunteer, or, if not, your suggestions as a viable candidate.
To get to Zubies Dry Dock Restaurant, take the 405 freeway to the Magnolia Avenue exit (Huntington Beach) and head south approximately 3 miles to 9059Adams Avenue. Zubies is in the shopping center on the northeast corner, right next to True Value Hardware. Vintage Ford, formerly on Beach Boulevard in Stanton is now in the same shopping center.
From there it’s only about six miles to see the collection in Costa Mesa. If you have any questions, just contact one of our
officers.
Looking forward to seeing you on the 11th.
