Members Photos   Rick Peterson El Monte, California 1927 Studebaker EW Commander Roadster 1927 Commander EW Roadster Body number EW-J    693 Here are a couple of pictures of the Roadster when it was in storage. These pictures were taken in 2004 by my friend Lloyd Prather of Bakersfield, California. He was up visiting the owner and his cars when he snapped these pictures. He actually had wanted to buy it but he had decided to pass. I was able to talk with the owner and review these pictures before I committed to buy it. Thanks for the pictures Lloyd! Below are the pictures of were the car was hiding. The owner took me for a short ride and I just had to get it! I could not get it on my trailer fast enough. Below is a picture of the Roadster that was the featured car for October. It shares  the space with some other classic cars in the Eighth Edition of the 1987 Collectors Edition calendar. I actually have this picture framed and hanging in my garage. I had got it back in about 1990 and always wished that one day I would own one like this one. After I had bought mine, I was driving an errand and got to thinking that they looked the same. I hurried home and I checked and it is the same car. You can tell by the license plate. This picture from the original calendar is a gift from Ken Porteous. He said "I have been saving this for 20 years just for you". Thanks Ken! Well, here's Dad getting to drive it! I do have some repairs to make but the car is is in really nice condition. My first job is to get an Atalanta on that radiator shell!  I can not stand that after market cap. White-wall tires will be next. I have to say thanks to Chester Bradfield. Thanks!
